Vaccination Policy
South Atlanta Pediatrics
Our practice strongly supports adherence to the recommended childhood immunization schedule as established by national public health and pediatric organizations. Vaccination is a critical component of preventive care and plays a vital role in protecting the health and well-being of children and the broader community.
Our goal is to build trust and maintain a collaborative relationship with families while consistently advocating for practices that promote optimal child health and disease prevention.
We remain dedicated to continuous education—for both our clinical team and the families we serve—to support informed choices and improve the overall health and wellness of children in our community.
We firmly believe in the effectiveness of vaccines to prevent serious illness and to save lives.
We firmly believe that all children and young adults should receive all of the recommended vaccines according to the schedule published by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
We firmly believe, based on all available literature, evidence, that vaccines do not cause autism or other developmental disabilities.
We firmly believe that vaccinating children and young adults may be the single most important health-promoting intervention we perform as healthcare providers, and that you can perform as parents/caregivers.
The recommended vaccines and their schedule are the results of years and years of scientific study and data gathering on millions of children by thousands of our brightest scientists and
physicians.
We recognize that some families may have questions, concerns, or hesitations regarding vaccines. Our approach is to engage in open, respectful, and evidence-based discussions with all families. We are committed to listening to concerns, providing accurate information, and supporting informed decision-making.
For families who are vaccine-hesitant or who decline some or all recommended vaccines:
- We will continue to provide care for their children.
- We will offer ongoing education regarding the benefits and safety of vaccines, as well as the risks associated with delayed or missed immunizations.
- We will revisit vaccine discussions at subsequent visits, as perspectives may evolve over time.
-We may alter the schedule to
accommodate parental concerns or reservations.
-We will require you to sign a “Refusal to Vaccinate” acknowledgement in the event of lengthy delays.
Please be advised, however, that delaying or “breaking up the vaccines” to give one or two at a time over two or more visits goes against expert recommendations, and can put your child at risk for serious illness (or even death) and goes against our medical advice as providers at South Atlanta Pediatrics.

As medical professionals, we feel very strongly that vaccinating your child on schedule with currently available vaccines is absolutely the right thing to do to protect all children and young adults.
Please feel free to discuss any questions or concerns you may have about vaccines with any of our outstanding providers at South Atlanta Pediatrics.
We appreciate again your support and assistance in promoting the optimal health and wellbeing of our community and children.
